Cleanfield Energy™ Corp. is a subsidiary of Cleanfield Alternative Energy Inc. listed on the TSX-Venture Exchange under the stock symbol AIR (TSXV-AIR).

Cleanfield develops, markets and distributes proprietary, renewable energy products. The company currently develops and markets small wind turbines through authorized renewable energy dealers, distributors and direct channels. Our Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine (known also as V3.5), features three-metre long vertical blades that rotate around a central axis. These wind turbines are designed for both tower (ground-mount) and rooftop installation and can produce clean renewable energy for both commercial and residential markets. . Cleanfield’s future product lines will include a 250kW universal inverter (power range 30 to 250kW), larger wind turbines and nanowire solar technology.


Experienced Management Team

Cleanfield is led by a strong management team composed of cleantech, engineering and business experts, with a proven record of accomplishment of business growth in the new technology industry. Collectively, the management team has substantial experience in R&D, manufacturing, wind energy, financial management, strategic planning, business development, marketing and sales.

Tony Verrelli – Chief Executive Officer and Director
Mr. Verrelli has been the President and a Director of Cleanfield Energy since 2002. His senior management experience includes diverse private, public and nonprofit organizations, with each experience revealing a solid record of accomplishment and leadership. During the past 18 years Mr. Verrelli has held various management, marketing and sales positions, and has managed over 250 marketing projects. Mr. Verrelli has been involved in the renewable energy industry for the past seven years and the environmental industry since 1995.

Henry Kroeze – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Kroeze has been the Chief Financial Officer of the Company since June 2008. Prior thereto, from 2005 to 2008 he was a financial consultant providing financial consulting to such companies as Biovail Corporation, a pharmaceutical company. From 1997 to 2004, he was the Director of Financial Operations with Laidlaw International Inc, a transportation company. Mr. Kroeze is a Chartered Accountant and a Certified Public Accountant (Illinois).

Mihail Stern – Chief Technology Officer, Vice President and Director
CTO/VP of Cleanfield Energy™ since 2002. President of Hexatronic Inc. since 1997, Engineer with MDS Sciex of Concord from January, 1997 to September, 2006. Mr. Stern co-founder Cleanfield and is currently the CTO, Vice President and a Director of Cleanfield since 2002. As a Senior Electronics Engineer with over 25 year’s experience, his work has emphasized power electronics and controls. These include high-performance electrical drives, power electronics for industrial applications and renewable energies.



Board of Directors

Joe Halstead
Mr. Halstead Is the former commissioner responsible for Economic Development Culture and Tourism in the City of Toronto. Since 1994, Mr. Halstead held various positions with the provincial government of Ontario, working in a broad range of management positions in different ministries and rising to the position of Assistant Deputy Minister of the Ontario Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Recreation. (Current Director)

John Ferguson
Mr. John Ferguson is currently a partner at STS Capital Partners, an international boutique investment banking firm where he uses his broad experience in communications, marketing, investor relations, business development and capital investment in a range of businesses, large and small, across many sectors, including banking and finance, telecommunications, e-commerce, health care, hospitality, food, infrastructure, marketing communications and small manufacturing. Prior to that, Mr. Ferguson was personal adviser to the Aga Khan, where he provided advice on issues related to community economic development and public-private investments in Africa and Central Asia. Prior to that, Mr. Ferguson was a Principal at Aldershot Inc., a company which provides strategic advice to private and public sector organizations. One of his assignments was as an advisor to the London-based Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the largest international accountancy body on the world. Mr. Ferguson holds his H.B.J. from Carleton University and a Diplôme d’Université in International Studies from the University of Nice.

Bruno Maruzzo
Mr. Bruno Maruzzo’s experience includes being the President of TechnoVenture Inc. which is an independent consulting practice providing such services as business analysis and strategic planning, business plan writing, general management services, fund raising and investor and corporate services for private and public companies mainly for high technology businesses. Prior to that, Mr Maruzzo was the Director, Corporate Development at GeneNews Limited (formerly ChondroGene Limited), a genomics-based company focused on the discovery and development of disease-specific therapeutic and diagnostic products where he was responsible for investor and corporate relations and communications, new business development including acquisition of new technologies, products and businesses, and general administrative functions, as well as product development activities. Mr. Maruzzo has his MBA from the University of Toronto, his M.A.Sc Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto and his B.A.Sc in Electrical Engineering. from the University of Waterloo and is a professional engineer.

Brian Miloski
Mr. Brian Miloski is currently employed as a Managing Director with the investment banking firm Caris & Company ("Caris"). Mr. Miloski joined Caris to help build the technology and energy investment banking practices and is responsible for the origination and execution of investment banking transactions including capital raises and mergers and acquisitions activity. Prior to joining Caris, Mr. Miloski was employed with BMO Capital Markets, a full-service North American financial services provider, in the Investment & Corporate Banking Group, where he was responsible for positioning companies within the public and private investment communities and executing investment banking transactions across several industries. Mr. Miloski has his M.S. Finance from the University of Baltimore and his B.S. Economics and Computer Science from the State University of New York College at Cortland.

Jeffrey Sherman
Mr. Jeffrey Sherman’s experience includes Vice President Finance and C.F.O. at Herbert A Watts Limited, a business services and customer relationship management company. He implemented many process improvements and arranged the refinancing and subsequent sale of the company. Before that, Mr. Sherman was Vice President, Finance and C.F.O. at Visible Genetics Inc., a medical instrumentation and diagnostics company. He set up systems and managed administration and finance as the company grew and helped drive the company’s initial public offering on Nasdaq, as well as two private placements. The company was subsequently sold to Bayer. More recently, he was interim C.F.O. at an instrumentation manufacturer where he upgraded systems and financial reporting as sales quadrupled with no increase in expenses, and he is currently C.F.O. at Pure Nickel Inc., a nickel exploration company with one of the largest portfolios of properties in the world.. Mr. Sherman is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, and Certified Investment Manager, Canadian Securities Institute; a Chartered Accountant; has his MBA from York University and B. Comm. from the University of Toronto.


Company History

2010 We surpassed the 60-unit milestone in turbine sales in January.

Cleanfield will sell and install 10 VAWTs in Houston, Texas.

2009 Cleanfield received UL certification, and began modifying its proprietary and innovative inverter for solar PV applications.

We installed six turbines on the roof of a building at Durham College in Ontario.

2008 We completed our first multi-turbine installation at Mohawk College in Ontario.

Cleanfield signed a collaboration agreement with McMaster University, Ontario Centres of Excellence to research and develop nanowire technology for the production of semiconductor solar photovoltaic cells.

We completed an offering of $1.5 million of Series B Debentures.

2007 Cleanfiled developed its 3.5kW inverter.

We sold and installed five V3.5 turbines at the Fire Management Headquarters in Kenora, Ontario.

Cleanfield completed a private placement of $1.3 million.

We received QPS certification for Canadian installations.

2006 McMaster University’s Mechanical Engineering Department successfully tested the V3.5 at the 9-metre National Research Council wind tunnel facility in Ottawa, Ontario.

Cleanfield owners finalized an Reverse Take-over with Strike Resources, resulting in a name change to Cleanfield Alternative Energy, which became the parent company of Cleanfield Energy™.

Cleanfield Alternative Energy commenced trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol TSX-V: AIR. We then completed a $2.5 million equity offering.

2005 We signed a collaboration agreement with McMaster University and Ontario Centres of Excellence to evaluate, test and redevelop the V3.5 turbine.

2004 The University of Timisoara began testing of the first prototype V3.5.

2003 Product development continued with wind tunnel testing of a small scale model of the V3.5 wind turbine.

2002 Cleanfield Energy™ was established in Canada by co-founders Mihail Stern, Alexander Trica and Tony Verrelli.

The University of Timisoara in Romania, commenced research & development of Cleanfield’s V3.5 wind turbine in conjunction with our engineering team.
